Wow, the first weekend in February is going to be great if you live in Southeast Michigan and want to know more about comics and cartooning! On Feb 5 there’s the cartooning workshop with Ruth Barshaw, and the next day I’ll be leading a series of short demonstrations on how to color your comics digitally in Adobe Photoshop Elements!

In this workshop you’l learn how to digitize your artwork, clean it up and correct mistakes, and how to apply color in a neat and easy-to-edit fashion. You can bring your own finished illustration to the event at the Ann Arbor District Library Downtown Branch, where it will be scanned and put on a Macintosh computer for you to practice on. If you already have it digitized, you can bring the image on a USB stick to load onto the Mac.

I’ll be leading this workshop as the guest speaker for the Ann Arbor Comic Artists Forum, a free monthly gathering of cartoonists in the area surrounding Ann Arbor. No need to pre-register, but seating is limited for the hands-on workshop, so you might want to arrive early!

1-3 pm February 6, Ann Arbor District Library Downtown Branch
