I love to lead workshops for adults, especially adults who have never tried drawing comics. It’s a real privilege to be the one to demonstrate to them that the quality of a comic depends more on how well it delivers story than it depends on how beautifully or technically one renders the illustrations.

Even if you’ve never drawn so much as a stick figure, I hope you’ll consider coming out to my Create Your Own Mini-Comic workshop on October 6 at the Chelsea District Library. In this 1.5-hour session we’ll have an interactive discussion exploring some of the chief storytelling principles of comics, followed by a hands-on session where you’ll be invited to create your own 8-page mini-comic. You’ll also get to learn about some screen printing techniques many mini-comics makers use to add that extra design flourish to their covers!

Registration is required. Hope to see you there!
