Late night sketching

+Papyrus just had an update, so I opened it up to do a little Boulder and Fleet sketching tonight. It is an absolute joy to sketch in. I'm looking for a comic project to draw entirely on my Note 10.1, and this might be the app to draw it with.

Well, this and LayerPaint. If Papyrus offered layer support and bucket fills, it would be a one-stop drawing solution.

I was thinking of doing the same thing with a project I'm working on. But I only have the Galaxy S3 and want to get a S pen for it but don't know if it works with that, or if it has pressure sensitivity.

  2. I guess I should check out papyrus. Been using layerpaint and sketchbook pro. Nice sketch!

+Darrell Hough +Papyrus is a note-taking app first and foremost, so it's not explicitly designed for professional drawing (though I keep bugging the developer to add layer support and fills!). But whatever drawing engine he's built into it is better than any other tablet drawing app I've used.

Upside: Terrific smooth lines in vector format.
Downside: any under-sketching persists unless you can carefully erase it.

So what I'm trying to do now is figure out a comic project that works with the necessarily sketchy style of working in the Papyrus app.

  4. Hmm… Maybe I'll add my voice to the layers request. Does it save off with a transparent background to color elsewhere? I suppose I can check that for myself when I get home.

I'll check that myself. I haven't yet tried to import it to other apps for coloring.
