  1. Rock monsters are a big fave of mine. This is a nice take on the idea. I like that it's  less monolithic or "huge pile of rock", more stalagmites and stalactites. Super cool!

    +Derrick Utz The main thing I focus on when drawing rock men or robots is to visualize their shape as an organic creature first. The loose undersketch of this rock man was all smooth connected shapes. then I apply the rocky or metallic exterior over top of that, adapting the rough shapes to loosely match the smooth shapes underneath.

    It's the only way I've found so far of making them look like moving, living things. Hope this helps, and I'm glad you like the drawing!
