Attention publishers and creators of all-ages comics! The Kids Read Comics Celebration has an opportunity for you to reach your target audience while helping with the worthy cause of getting more kids to read comics!

This spring I will be visiting 21 libraries in what we’re calling the Kids Read Comics Super Fun Tour! In order to spread the word about our event this June 18-19, 2011, I will be leading free hands-on workshops for kids all across Southern Michigan, from the shores of Lake Huron to Lake Michigan! I will be driving over 2,000 miles over the course of this tour, and teaching hundreds of young people.

If you haven’t seen my workshops before, they are a positive and high-energy environment leaving kids and teens excited about the medium. Participants at my library events often leave with several comics checked out from the library’s collection. My workshops are as much about learning how to enjoy comics as they are about how to make them.

We are making a special full-color comic book, The Origin of Jared, to give the kids and teens who attend the workshops to take home with them. These books will also be distributed at other events related to KRC, and at KRC itself. to help cover the costs of this tour we’re offering sponsorship positioning on the inside front cover of the book. In other words, these books will be freely distributed to thousands of children.

We have four sponsorship slots open for the inside front cover, each 2.25×2.25″. The artwork must be 300 dpi and in full-color. We’re asking for $200 for each sponsorship slot. The slot can be used to promote your webcomic or a landing page where kids can purchase your printed book. We only ask that you point them at comics appropriate for kids and teens.

Deadline for participation is midnight next Wednesday, March 9. You can contact me for details on how you can participate.

The more kids we get to read comics, the better chance we all have at making a better living through comics. So I hope you’ll support our mission.
